What does the Bible say about faith and experiences?

In the Bible, particularly illustrated through Zechariah's prophecy in Luke 1:67-80, faith is depicted as having a true object—namely, the Lord Jesus Christ. While experiences may be real, they should not be the foundation of one's faith. True saving faith looks to the Lord for salvation, acknowledging Him as the sovereign redeemer who performs mercy for His people. Experiences, even remarkable ones like those of Zechariah, should not overshadow the importance of trusting in God's promises and character as revealed in Scripture.
