What does the Bible say about faith and signs?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that faith does not rely on signs; it is a gift from God that comes through hearing His Word.

The Bible clearly indicates that faith is a gift from God rather than a response to signs or proofs. In Matthew 12 and 1 Corinthians 1:21, we learn that an evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but true faith is nurtured by the preaching of the gospel. Paul expresses that faith is established through the foolishness of preaching, not through human wisdom or signs. Hence, just as the rich man in hell believed that a risen person could convince others, the reality is that belief must come from a heart made alive by God through His Word, not from external proofs.
