What does the Bible say about fear in relation to our sins?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that our fear of sin is removed through faith in Christ, who justifies us.

In Romans 8:33, Paul poses the question, 'Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect?' He emphasizes that if God justifies us, no one can condemn us for our sins. The believer may feel remorse and sorrow over their sins, but the assurance comes from understanding that Christ took our sins upon Himself, satisfying God's justice. Therefore, through faith in the sacrifice of Christ, we find peace knowing that God separates our sins from us and remembers them no more. Our confidence lies not in our works but solely in the completed work of Christ on the cross.
