What does the Bible say about feeling discouraged in ministry?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible acknowledges discouragement in ministry but emphasizes looking to God for strength and encouragement.

In the midst of discouragement, Paul, as seen in Acts 18 and his letters to the Thessalonians, reminds us to refocus our gaze on God. Paul experienced significant trials, from persecution to lack of support, causing him to be pressed in spirit. However, he found renewal through reports of the faith from the Thessalonians, which led him to rejoice. This teaches Christians that while discouragement may come, our strength lies in the assurance that the Lord is with us and that He has called His elect to Himself, giving us reason to persevere in our responsibilities.
