What does the Bible say about feeling unworthy of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that feelings of unworthiness are common among believers, but salvation is based on Christ's work, not our feelings.

In the Christian walk, feelings of unworthiness can often lead to doubt about one's salvation. However, scripture shows us that God's grace is not contingent upon our feelings or actions. For instance, in Romans 3:23, it is stated that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This indicates that our natural state is one of unworthiness. Yet, in Christina faith, we are not saved by our feelings or by our merits but through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, who was made a curse for us (Galatians 3:13). Recognizing our unworthiness is the first step toward understanding the weight of God's grace and mercy.
