What does the Bible say about finding peace in troubled times?

In John 16:33, Jesus explicitly tells His disciples that He speaks these words so they may have peace in Him. Despite the inevitable tribulations that they will face in the world, believers are encouraged to take heart because Jesus has overcome the world.
