What does the Bible say about following the old paths?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible encourages seeking the old paths as the good way that leads to rest for our souls (Jeremiah 6:16).

Jeremiah 6:16 states, 'Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see and ask for the old paths where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.' This passage highlights the importance of looking back to the established truths of God's Word. The old paths represent the time-tested ways of faith and obedience that lead to a relationship with God and ultimately to rest for our souls. They stand in contrast to new, rebellious paths that humanity may be quick to pursue in their folly, as seen in the refusal of Judah to heed God's warnings.
