What does the Bible say about forgetting past sins?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches us to forget past sins so we can focus on our relationship with Christ (Philippians 3:13).

In Philippians 3:13, Paul instructs believers to forget those things which are behind. This includes our past sins and failures that can cloud our relationship with Christ. Dwelling on past sins can lead to doubt and discourage our spiritual growth. Instead, we should remember that God forgives and forgets our sins, as emphasized in Psalm 103:12, which states that He removes our transgressions from us as far as the east is from the west. Forgetting our past sins allows us to focus on the present and the future that lies ahead in Christ.
