What does the Bible say about gainsayers?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible defines gainsayers as those who openly oppose the gospel and seek to disrupt the truth of God's word.

In Titus 1:9-16, gainsayers are described as unruly, vain talkers, and deceivers, particularly those who mix works with grace. They are identified by their opposition to the clear truths of scripture and their unwillingness to submit to God’s authority. The Apostle Paul warns that such individuals are not only hostile to God’s message but also to themselves as they oppose their own salvation. They refuse to accept the gospel, and this rebellion ultimately leads to their destruction.
