What does the Bible say about getting right with God?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that we get right with God through Jesus Christ, who suffered for our sins to bring us to God (1 Peter 3:18).

The process of getting right with God is fundamentally centered around recognizing the huge obstacle of sin that separates humanity from the Holy God. According to 1 Peter 3:18, Christ suffered for our sins, making it possible for us to be brought back into a reconciled relationship with Him. This reconciliation requires acknowledging our sinful nature and understanding that only through Christ’s sacrificial death can we be deemed righteous and just before God.
