What does the Bible say about God as our shepherd?

Answered in 18 sources

The Bible describes God as our shepherd who restores our souls, guiding and protecting us through our spiritual journey.

In Psalm 23, we see a profound expression of God’s role as our shepherd: 'The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He restores my soul.' This imagery illustrates God's constant presence and care for His people. We, as His flock, often stray and backslide, but the Lord faithfully seeks us out and restores us. As believers, we experience a cyclical journey of wandering from God and being brought back into His fold, which showcases His grace and mercy.
