What does the Bible say about God ordaining the fall?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God's sovereign will included ordaining the fall of man, which was part of His eternal purpose.

Romans 9:20-21 reveals God's sovereign right, where Paul questions who man is to argue with God. He illustrates that God, as the potter, has power over His creation. The fall of Adam was known to God before the foundation of the world, as seen in Ephesians 3:11. Thus, the fall was not a surprise to God but part of His divine decree, which included both judgment and mercy. Through this, He demonstrates His attributes of justice, grace, and mercy; each act of sin serves to manifest the depth of God's glory and attributes.
