What does the Bible say about God's gaze?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible says God looks to those who are humble, contrite, and dependent on Him for everything.

Isaiah 66:2 reveals that God looks to the one who is poor and of a contrite spirit, one who trembles at His word. This characterizes a person who recognizes their utter dependency on God and their own spiritual poverty. God does not require us to bring anything to Him; rather, He desires a heart that understands it cannot earn His favor and must rely solely on His grace for salvation and sustenance.
