What does the Bible say about God's glory and our worship?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God's glory is paramount and that our worship should focus on what He has done for us rather than what we can do for Him.

In 2 Samuel 7:18, we see David reflecting on God's glory after recognizing His deeds. David initially wants to build a magnificent house for the Lord, but God reminds him that He cannot be contained in a building. David's shift from wanting to do for God to sitting before Him illustrates the importance of worshiping God for His grace and mercy. Our worship must stem from a remembrance of God's actions on our behalf, not from a desire to offer Him something.
