What does the Bible say about God's guidance in difficult times?

Answered in 5 sources

The Bible teaches that God's guidance through difficult circumstances is an expression of His tender mercy, even when it seems challenging.

In Exodus 13:17-18, we see that God led the Israelites through the wilderness instead of the shorter route through the land of the Philistines. This decision was made because He knew that the people would be afraid and might turn back to Egypt if faced with war. God's leading was a form of tender mercy, guiding His people in a way that would ultimately preserve them from their cowardice and strengthen their faith. Just as the Israelites faced daunting challenges, modern believers can trust that God’s guidance through their difficulties is also an act of mercy, meant for their good and growth in faith.
