What does the Bible say about God's love and His discipline?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God's love often manifests through discipline, meant for our spiritual growth and understanding.

In Hosea 5:15, we see that God removes His presence so that His people may acknowledge their offenses and seek Him. This withdrawal is not in anger but in love, orchestrating circumstances for His chosen ones to learn and grow. God’s discipline, described in Hebrews 12:11, may not seem joyous at the time, but it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness in our lives, affirming His role as a loving Father who desires our spiritual welfare. As Job 5:17-18 states, blessed is the man whom God corrects. Thus, His loving discipline serves to teach us about His holiness and mercy.
