What does the Bible say about God's presence during hardships?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible assures us that God is always present with His people, even when we cannot perceive Him.

In Exodus 14, the children of Israel found themselves in a dire situation, believing God had abandoned them as they faced the Red Sea. However, the angel of God, representing Christ Himself, had merely moved behind them to protect them from their enemies. This illustrates that God's presence does not always manifest as we expect, but He is still intimately involved in our lives, guiding and protecting us even in moments of seeming abandonment. Scriptures such as Isaiah 54:7-10 reaffirm that while God may hide His face temporarily, His kindness and mercy remain unchanged and everlasting. Thus, believers can take comfort that God is always present, fighting for and saving His people, even when we cannot see Him.
