What does the Bible say about God's providence in prayer?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God orchestrates all events, and prayer is a vital means through which we align ourselves with His will.

In 2 Samuel 15, David acknowledges God's providence as he faces the consequences of his sin. He sends the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem, trusting that if he finds grace in the eyes of the Lord, he will return. This illustrates the relationship between God's providence and prayer, as David prays for God to frustrate Ahithophel's counsel. Prayer, therefore, is not merely a matter of request but an exercise of dependence on God's sovereign will, trusting that He orchestrates all things for His glory and the good of His people.
