What does the Bible say about God's providence in the Book of Ruth?

Answered in 1 source

The Book of Ruth illustrates God's sovereign providence by showing how He orchestrates events for the good of His people.

The Book of Ruth beautifully unfolds the wondrous mystery of God's wise and adorable providence. Providence is the unfolding and accomplishment of God's everlasting purpose which is the salvation of His elect. By the end of the story, we observe God's providence in every event that occurred. For instance, even Elimelech's wrongful move to Moab, which was an act of great wickedness, was still governed by God's sovereign will, ultimately leading to Ruth being chosen as an heir of grace and the ancestor of Christ. In essence, we are reminded to trust God's providence, even when plans seem unclear, as He works all things for the good of His people.
