What does the Bible say about God's recovery of His people?

In 1 Samuel 30, we see David recovering all that was lost when the Amalekites attacked Ziklag. Just as David brought back the captives and restored what was missing, Christ, as the fulfillment of the Davidic promise, successfully recovers His people from sin and death.
