What does the Bible say about God's refuge in times of trouble?

In Psalm 142, David expresses a deep sense of loneliness and despair, stating, 'Refuge failed me, no man cared for my soul.' This highlights the spiritual need for God as a refuge during our lowest times. The Scriptures repeatedly depict God as a source of comfort and strength. For instance, in Psalm 46:1, it states, 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.'
