What does the Bible say about God's testing of faith?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that God tests our faith to prove whether it is genuine, as exemplified in Exodus 15:25-26.

In Exodus 15:25-26, God led the Israelites into the wilderness where they faced challenges such as lack of water, and He tested them to demonstrate the quality of their faith. The act of testing is not meant to reveal anything to God, who already knows our hearts, but to reveal our faith to ourselves. Just like Abraham’s faith was tested (Genesis 22), our faith is continuously proven through our trials. The importance of this testing is evident in how our reactions during difficulties will either confirm or deny the authenticity of our faith.
