What does the Bible say about God's view of sin in His people?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible indicates that God does not see sin in His people because their sins are viewed in Christ, their surety.

According to Numbers 23:21, God states through Balaam that 'He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath He seen perverseness in Israel.' This indicates that God does not see the sins of His people as He has always viewed their sins in Christ, who is their surety. The omniscient God sees all things, including our sins, but for those in Christ, He chooses not to impute their sins to them as stated in 2 Corinthians 5:19, where God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, 'not imputing their trespasses unto them.' Thus, believers are secure in God's view of their position in Christ, leading to the assurance that their sins are not counted against them.
