What does the Bible say about God's Word trying us?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God's Word tests and tries us, refining our faith and reliance on Him.

In Psalm 105, we find that 'the Word of the Lord tried Joseph' until the time it came to pass (Psalm 105:19). This illustrates how God's promises, while they may lead us through trials, are ultimately meant to test and purify our faith in Him. Just as Joseph faced trials in Egypt before his exaltation, believers today are often tested by the Word to deepen their trust in God's plan for their lives. God's Word is essential; we are born again and sustained by it, indicating our total reliance on His truth and grace.
