What does the Bible say about God sending trials?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that trials come from God to reveal our dependence on Him and to strengthen our faith.

Scripture indicates that trials are part of God's providential care for His people. In the case of Hezekiah, even while he was doing good works by restoring true worship, God sent a trial in the form of the Assyrian army. This served to remind him of his inability to save himself and to encourage him to place his trust entirely in God. God uses trials to show us our limitations and to lead us to depend on His strength, reinforcing the promise that salvation is entirely from Him.
