What does the Bible say about grace being free?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that grace cannot be bought or earned; it is a free gift from God.

Grace, as illustrated in the sermon, is a divine favor granted by God that cannot be earned through human effort or merit. Romans 11:6 emphasizes this by stating that if grace is earned by works, then it is no longer grace. Just as Joseph would not accept his brothers' money, God does not accept our works as payment for salvation. This teaches us that salvation is entirely dependent on God's free grace, which He bestows upon sinners because of His love.
