What does the Bible say about happiness and contentment?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that true happiness comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ, the only blessed man.

According to Scripture, true happiness, or blessedness, is found not in external achievements or possessions, but in Jesus Christ. Psalm 1 illustrates this by pointing to the blessed man, who is Jesus Himself. Unlike sinners, who are described as chaff driven away by the wind, Christ is rooted and fruitful, representing the fulfillment of joy and contentment that we humans cannot achieve on our own. We were born sinners, separated from true happiness, which can only be restored in Christ's righteousness and union with Him.
