What does the Bible say about happiness for Christians?

Answered in 4 sources

The Bible teaches that a Christian’s highest happiness comes from being near Christ and engaged in holiness.

The happiest state for a Christian is the one characterized by holiness, as indicated in Spurgeon's reflection on life near Christ. Proverbs 30:8 and Psalm 38:21 highlight the significance of seeking God earnestly. Just as heat is most intense near the sun, so true joy for a believer is found when they draw close to Christ. On the contrary, when believers fix their gaze on worldly vanity, they forfeit genuine satisfaction, as the foundation for their joy is rooted in spiritual communion rather than earthly pursuits. Therefore, engaging in sinful or trivial endeavors only leads to spiritual peril.
