What does the Bible say about hardening your heart against God?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible warns against hardening your heart to the voice of God, as seen in Hebrews 3:7-11.

Hebrews 3:7-11 urges believers to not harden their hearts when they hear the voice of God. This hardening is a rebellion against the clear teaching of Scripture and the revealed nature of Christ's work of salvation. Just as the Israelites in the wilderness hardened their hearts when confronted with God's promise, today's believers are cautioned against overlooking the sufficiency of Christ's work in their lives, both in justification and sanctification. To harden one's heart is to resist the true message of the Gospel, which calls all sinners to rest in Christ alone and His finished work.
