What does the Bible say about hating sin?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that understanding God's holiness and justice leads to a deep hatred of sin, as sin offends God's character.

In Scripture, sin is presented as an offense against God's perfect will and attributes. Romans 6 and 8 emphasize the transformative power of knowing God, which helps believers comprehend the malignity of sin. The more we behold God's greatness, wisdom, goodness, and holiness, the clearer it becomes that sin is utterly contrary to His nature. Therefore, cultivating a relationship with God fuels our desire to hate sin, enabling us to see its true nature as the enemy of our holiness and relationship with Him.
