What does the Bible say about healing and sickness?

The Bible teaches that Jesus heals both physical sickness and addresses the deeper spiritual sickness of sin.

In Matthew 8:16-17, we see Jesus casting out demons and healing all who were sick, fulfilling Isaiah's prophecy that He would take our infirmities and bear our sicknesses. This highlights that while physical healing was a significant aspect of His ministry, His ultimate mission was to address the root cause of all suffering: sin. The Lord’s healing miracles served to validate His message and reveal His authority over both the physical and spiritual realms.
