What does the Bible say about healing in the context of suffering?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that suffering and trials are part of the Christian journey, and through them, God reveals Himself as Jehovah Rapha, the Lord that healeth thee.

In Exodus 15:22-27, the Israelites face bitterness in their trial when they find bitter waters at Marah. Their immediate frustration is a human trait, reflective of our sinful nature. Despite their complaints, God provides a means of healing through the tree that Moses threw into the waters, making them sweet. The scripture teaches that this process illustrates how God uses trials to test and draw His people to Him, reinforcing that He is the healer of both physical and spiritual ailments. Therefore, in times of suffering, believers are reminded to seek God and trust in His provision, reflecting on His nature as Jehovah Rapha, who heals our diseases and comforts us in our trials.
