What does the Bible say about hearing Jesus only?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible emphasizes that we should focus solely on Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of the law and the prophets.

In the Mount of Transfiguration, God declared, 'This is my beloved Son; hear ye him' (Matthew 17:8). This command to hear Jesus indicates that all revelations of the Old Testament, represented by Moses and Elijah, have been made complete in Christ. These figures had their purposes in pointing towards the Messiah, but now that Christ is revealed as the Savior, believers are called to focus on Him exclusively. This narrative underscores the importance of recognizing Jesus as the centerpiece of God's revelation and our response must be to listen and follow Him alone.
