What does the Bible say about heaven as a foretaste?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that experiences in this life can serve as foretaste of the joys and blessings of heaven.

Heaven is often presented as a realm where Christians experience perfect security, rest, victory, and acceptance with God. This life contains experiences that offer a foretaste of these heavenly blessings; the Israelites' sampling of the grapes in the land of Canaan serves as an analogy for the glimpses of eternal glory we receive while still on earth. While we face challenges, our moments of peace, communion, and acceptance from God are realities that foreshadow the joys that await us in heaven.
