What does the Bible say about hope in hopeless situations?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that even in hopeless circumstances, we can trust in God's power to act, as shown in John 11:21-22.

In John 11, we see Martha expressing hope in Jesus despite her brother Lazarus being dead for four days. She declares, 'even now, whatsoever you will ask of God, he will give it thee.' This highlights the belief that no matter how dire our situations may seem, God's will can intervene in what appears to be total hopelessness. Throughout scripture, instances such as the restoration of Lazarus or God's promise to Abraham illustrate that God's power is not limited by human perceptions of impossibility. Thus, when faced with despair, we should remember that we serve a God for whom nothing is too hard.
