What does the Bible say about how much knowledge is needed for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that all true believers do not have the same degree of knowledge, and one does not need to be a theologian to be saved.

The Bible illustrates that there are varying degrees of spiritual knowledge among true believers, as reflected in 1 John 2, where John addresses fathers, young men, and little children, indicating differing stages of growth and understanding. Just as infants do not need comprehensive knowledge of life yet possess life, so too, a new believer in Christ does not need to understand all theological intricacies to be genuinely saved. Salvation is firmly rooted in faith in Christ rather than an extensive theological education.
