What does the Bible say about human helplessness?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that without God, humanity cannot save itself and is utterly helpless in spiritual matters.

Humanity's helplessness is a fundamental theme in Scripture, underscoring our dependence on God for salvation and strength. Jesus Himself teaches that 'without me, ye can do nothing' (John 15:5), highlighting our inability to achieve righteousness or eternal life apart from Him. Ephesians 2:1 reminds us that we were 'dead in trespasses and sins,' indicating our desperate need for intervention from a Savior. Just as the woman with the issue of blood grew worse despite her efforts, mankind left to their own devices will likewise find no remedy for their spiritual condition.
