What does the Bible say about human works and salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that human works cannot save us; only faith in Jesus Christ can redeem us.

Scripture clearly states that our works cannot earn us favor with God or achieve our salvation. In Romans 8:8, it affirms, 'So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.' Our attempts to secure salvation through our own righteousness are futile and often lead us to spiritual ruin, as demonstrated by King Saul, who turned to fleshly deeds rather than to the Lord. The grace of God revealed through Jesus Christ teaches us that we cannot save ourselves; rather, we must trust in Him for our redemption and salvation.
