What does the Bible say about humility and childlikeness?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that to be great in the kingdom of heaven, one must become like a little child, embodying humility and dependence.

In Matthew 18:3-4, Jesus states that unless we are converted and become like little children, we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. This signifies that humility is paramount in the Christian faith. Little children reflect a certain lowliness of spirit and dependence that we are called to emulate; they recognize their need for guidance and care, embodying the trust that we should have in our Heavenly Father. Jesus emphasized that to be the greatest in His kingdom, we must humble ourselves, turning away from pride and self-importance.
