What does the Bible say about humility and grace?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible teaches that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5).

According to 1 Peter 5:5, God has made it clear that He opposes the proud, but He offers grace to the humble. This foundational truth is vital for understanding our relationship with God. The proud, in their self-sufficiency, resist God and ultimately face His judgment. In contrast, the humble recognize their dependence on God and seek His grace, which is freely given to those who humbly bow before Him. Humility opens the heart to God's grace, enabling us to receive forgiveness and transformation.
