What does the Bible say about hunger for God?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that a hungry soul seeks the sweetness of Christ, finding nourishment in Him alone.

In Proverbs 27:7, we see that a hungry soul finds sweetness in every bitter thing. This reflects the idea that spiritual hunger drives individuals to seek true satisfaction in Christ. Jesus highlights this in the Beatitudes when He says, 'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled' (Matthew 5:6). When God creates a deep spiritual hunger within us, we turn away from worldly satisfaction and seek sustenance from Him, who is the source of life and joy.
