What does the Bible say about idols and worship?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible speaks against idol worship, emphasizing that idols are 'no gods' and false to true worship.

In Galatians 4:8-9, Paul warns the believers about turning back to weak and beggarly elements, which refers to the false idols they once served. These elements represent anything that distracts from true worship of God, leading to spiritual bondage. Isaiah 44 vividly describes the futility of idol-making, calling attention to the foolishness of creating gods from materials and then worshiping them, as these gods cannot deliver or save. Instead, true worship must be centered on the living and true God, not the creations of man's hands, which offer no real benefit.
