What does the Bible say about Israel's spiritual promises?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that only the elect, whether from Israel or Gentiles, receive God's spiritual promises.

According to the sermon, natural Israel itself does not possess any spiritual promises of mercy. The Apostle Paul clarifies that the eternal spiritual promises are reserved for a chosen people, known as spiritual Israel, which may include individuals from both natural Israel and the Gentiles. While natural Israel serves as a type or shadow, only those elected in Christ before the foundation of the world are heirs of these promises (Romans 11:1-5). This reflects the historic Reformed understanding that God's grace is particular and effective for the elect.
