What does the Bible say about Jehu's obedience to God?

Answered in 1 source

Jehu showed zeal in executing God's judgment but ultimately ignored the law of the Lord.

In 2 Kings 10, Jehu is portrayed as a figure who carried out God's commands to eliminate the house of Ahab and the worshipers of Baal. However, while he demonstrated great zeal for this task, he neglected a critical aspect of true obedience – to walk in the law of the Lord with all his heart. Despite his victories and righteous actions, he continued in the sins of Jeroboam, maintaining the golden calves and failing to fully adhere to God's commandments. This duality in Jehu's character serves as a warning against being outwardly zealous yet inwardly unfaithful to God’s Word.
