What does the Bible say about Jesus as our sustainer?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible depicts Jesus as the one who sustains us spiritually, much like Joseph sustained the people of Egypt during a famine.

In the biblical narrative, Joseph was exalted to provide for the needs of many during a severe famine, symbolizing Christ’s role as our ultimate sustainer. Just as Joseph opened storehouses to nourish the hungry from all nations, Jesus is the storehouse of all grace and saving mercy. In Him, all treasures of wisdom and knowledge are found (Colossians 2:3), and He invites all to come to Him for sustenance, fulfilling their spiritual hunger and need for life. This beautiful typology underscores that Christ is the all-sufficient Savior who meets the deepest needs of humanity, offering forgiveness and sustenance to those who come in faith.
