What does the Bible say about Jesus being the prophet?

In Deuteronomy 18:18-19, God promises to raise up a prophet from among the brethren, and this prophet is understood in Christian theology to be Jesus Christ. He not only speaks God's word but embodies it as the living Word. This title acknowledges His role as the ultimate prophet who fulfills the scripture and mediates God's message to humanity.
