What does the Bible say about Jesus Christ as our High Priest?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible describes Jesus as our High Priest who offers Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.

In the Old Testament, the high priest was required to offer sacrifices for the sins of the people. However, these sacrifices were only types and symbols of the true sacrifice that Jesus would accomplish. In Hebrews 9:11-12, it emphasizes that Christ came as a high priest and entered the holy place with His own blood, obtaining eternal redemption for us. His role as our High Priest means He not only mediates between God and humanity but also fulfills the sacrificial system by being the perfect and final sacrifice on our behalf.
