What does the Bible say about Jesus fulfilling the law?

Answered in 6 sources

Jesus fulfilled the law completely by observing all ceremonial and moral laws, demonstrating He is the perfect righteousness we cannot attain.

In John 5, we see that Jesus honors the Jewish feasts and the Sabbath, which were instituted by God through Moses. His participation in these feasts reflects His commitment to fulfilling all righteousness, as He was made under the law to fully obey its requirements. Not only did He adhere to the moral law, but He also observed the ceremonial laws such as circumcision and purification rites, further proving His role as the mediator of grace and truth. Ultimately, Jesus did this to provide for us a perfect righteousness that we could never achieve on our own, thus fulfilling the law on our behalf.
