What does the Bible say about Jesus healing the demoniac?

In Mark 5, we see Jesus intentionally crossing the Sea of Galilee to meet a man possessed by a legion of demons. This instance highlights not only the compassion of Christ towards the afflicted but also His sovereign authority over evil. The man, who lived among the tombs and was considered uncontrollable, encountered Jesus and was dramatically transformed at His command. The evils that bound him were cast out, showing that no power is greater than Christ's ability to heal and restore someone to their right mind and purpose.
