What does the Bible say about Jesus' role as our High Priest?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible declares that Jesus acts as our High Priest, reconciling us to God through His sacrificial death.

Jesus fulfills the role of High Priest by mediating between God and humanity, as described in Hebrews 2:17. He is the merciful and faithful High Priest who sympathizes with our weaknesses, having been tempted in every way yet without sin. By offering Himself as a sacrifice, He provides a way for us to be reconciled to God, removing the barrier of sin. Furthermore, His priesthood is permanent; unlike the Levitical priests who died, Christ, having risen from the dead, continually intercedes for us. This assurance strengthens our faith, knowing that through Him, we have access to the Father.
